Highlight: Helping A Major Nonprofit Create Social Value
One of the nation’s largest membership organizations engaged GivingWorks to develop an independent assessment of its for-profit activities, which account for more than half of the organization’s operating budget. These activities also play a vital role in the organization’s social mission—not just in funding its nonprofit work but also in developing dynamic partnerships that tap into underserved markets and foster healthy private-sector competition.

GivingWorks helped the client's leaders assess and pinpoint areas in which the organization could obtain better results by broadening and rethinking its business models. The work culminated in a presentation and lively discussion with the board of directors. By challenging long-held beliefs, presenting new alternatives, and helping to outline a path to a new and entirely different business paradigm, GivingWorks’s insights augmented the organization’s ability to spur positive change.
